Westworld & Finance (spoiler alert)
I’m an avid Westworld fan. I think the show is great and I love how the plot is evolving.
However there is one thing that just keeps bugging me and it really hit me in this latest episode (4 of season 3). For such a sophisticated show they do a terrible job at portraying how finance actually works. A private equity vp has the ability to move all of a billionaires’ (Dempsey Jr’s) money? really? They could’ve easily made it a private banker or better yet someone who works for his family office. I don’t think it would’ve taken away from the show for them to get that right. And don’t get me started on how they did the “hostile takeover”... is anyone else surprised by how bad that was? I was expecting more from what is otherwise a terrific show.
