WFH Dual Monitor Setup Help
Incoming intern this summer. I plan on buying a ThinkPad X1 Carbon for work and I'd love to get a dual monitor setup as well. Can anyone help lay out what exactly I need in addition to the laptop - obviously two monitors, keyboard, etc. but was not sure if anything had to be specific to Lenovo / if there are additional pieces I may need that I am unsure of.
This is exactly the type of question people mean by 'you need to learn how to google something yourself'.
the answers i get from google are not from sharp, well-rounded and unbiased investment bankers

You could buy a lenovo USB C Docking station but they're quite pricey. It makes it easier to connect both monitors to the laptop and peripherals via one USB C cable.
So I am an intern this summer too. My BB sent me a laptop and I bought two monitors and a wireless keyboard/mouse. I bought an HDMI splitter only to realize that it only adds a second display that's mirrored on both monitors (as in one display on the laptop and the 2 monitors are showing the same thing), googled the problem, found out that's what HDMI splitters do. Then I bought a usb to hdmi output and plugged that in, only to realize I'm not allowed to install the driver and now have to return that too. I called IT up and they said they will send me (for free) a company docking station. So yeah, buy the 2 monitors, but ask company IT to send you their docking station to avoid 2 weeks of the bs I had to deal with
This is probably going to turn out to be a life saver. Thanks so much.!
