What are you hoping gets automated?

Ive been thinking a lot about ChatGPT recently for my job. I remember all the crappy tasks I used to have to do that it could do for future PE associates. I know people are worried about getting replaced, but I think theres potential to make our lives better too.

i remember one particular portco that used to always send financial updates in their unique bizarro format and I would have to manually translate them all for our internal model. Must have lost weeks of my life doing that.

What are you hoping gets automated out of your job? What tedious task do you hate doing?

Within 5 years I am virtually certain that slide deck creation will be fully automated. As it’s mostly possible now. Probably analysts will still make edits/collect data but the actual slide creation will just be done by some model.

I think one of the biggest gates is what we are allowed to put into ChatGPT… someone will build software that fully runs inside azure on your own models to automate all this soon enough. Open source models are getting pretty good.

Automation isn’t that sexy. What is sexy is uploading information and skills to the mind and using the mind to control electronics and computers.
