What good is a degree in business administration?
Many undergraduate schools offer a degree in "General Business Administration" where rather than taking a bunch of classes in, say, accounting, you can take a variety mix of a bunch of business electives. Does this degree have any value? Or is it better to focus on one subject?
Seriously? Are you kidding me right now? Have you ever once considered in the two decades or so of your sad, accounting major life that someone, somewhere, at some point in time, may have already asked this question? Have you ever heard of a "search bar" before? Try typing your stupid question into that instead of wasting all of our time asking on here. Maybe the information is out-dated or you want a new perspective, but that doesn't change the fact that there is a search bar. People like you, asking these idiotic questions, are why this site is going down hill. Unbelievable.
Swing and a miss there, captain. When I make comments, they're at least quick and sometimes witty. But when you go to all of the trouble to type and proof-read a paragraph just copying my shtick (and you can't even make witty comments, you just say bland, redundant things like "stupid" and "idiotic"), it's just sad lmao.
My Major was Real Estate, and to get a bit more of a 'Business Background,' I got a minor in Business Admin.
I would say it was pretty useful. Basically gave a lower division overview of Accounting, Econ, Marketing, Stats, Management and Finance, and then took a little deeper dive (upper division) into Marketing, Management and Econ/Finance.
It definitely felt kind of like a Jack of All Trades Master of none type deal, but as someone who had a major in RE, it made sense to get a grasp of everything.
At the end of the day it's up to you, but I would put it in the category with a major in Management where it doesn't really prepare you for any one job, just prepares you for a career in business. If you're interested in sales, this is probably a pretty good route.
If I had to do it again, I most likely would have gone:
RE Major and then either double minored with a combination of Business Admin, Finance or Econ, or double majored with a RE major and one of those three.
