What is the worst state and why is it Florida?
Since everyone can have a blast over glorifying NYC as the undefeated GOAT of US cities, I have a strange drive to hear everyone shit on cities/states they don't like.
Not sure if this was done before, because, as one American president put it *come on, man!* I'm too lazy to look up past threads.
I hate Florida. It's a garbage place. It has nothing except I guess a lame beach. Miami at night is just trash, and I mean that literally. Human intelligence just seems to drop the moment you enter the state. People are just *dumb* there. I wish I could utilize more intellectual sophistication to describe it, but yeah people are just stupid there for some reason.
Perhaps its cost of living is the only plus, but it's also increasing progressively

Ha no I’m from Florida. I agree that 90% of florida sucks but Tampa, St.Pete, and Fort Lauderdale area are all sweet. No they aren’t NYC/CHI type cities but they’re cool in their own way. People are moving there for more than tax related reasons.
it’s also hard to judge an entire state rather than city by city. I’d argue that over 50% NY, MA, IL, TX, And CA sucks too.
Another thing I hate about Florida: the Worship of anything and everything Disney related in Orlando.
For me, the worst state would be anything rural AND with shitty nature. I'm from a rural background myself and there were always interesting places to explore. I mean swamps, forests, mountains, etc. are cool, factory farm cornfields suck. I think Dakotas, Iowa, etc. really have the worst of both worlds.

Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (yeah it’s all one big city)- a crappy place without any local color, culture, flora or fauna. Climb up into the foothills of Fort Worth and gaze upon the unending suburban sprawl- identical mcmansions, identical fast food franchises, identical gas stations, identical malls with cheap things you don’t need. The city offers a watered down existence which gives its zombified inhabitants just enough dopamine at too cheap a price so they will keep chugging away at their crappy jobs and consuming in perpetuity without asking questions. When I lived here I thought I was in a fever dream, certainly capitalism in its most insidious form. George Carlin has a phenomenal bit on this, would recommend. Can’t complain abt austin tho.
Not a state but San Francisco is easily the worst city in the US
