Therapy. Hands down the best money I've spent, and whenever I can resume in person I plan to. I can't tell you how much that has helped me to work through issues, primarily self induced, as they come and go. I wish I had started going sooner.
I'd add that it's not something where I have trauma or even a tough upbringing - it's really a time to focus on yourself, something that I simply don't do well unless I'm pushed to do it. Having an objective party is really helpful to work through things, bounce feelings off of, etc. For, what, $150+ an hour - it's probably a bargain long term.
Yeah therapy is very helpful. I was against therapy and psychiatrists and therapists until I was 27 and then met a really good psychiatrist who ‘got me’ and I tell him everything and he helps to sort it out.
I really view it as a personal tool to have a therapist or psychiatrist at your disposal. It is about personal wellness and developing healthy habits in life and neurologically.
