What’s next

This is probably more appropriate elsewhere, but I thought this might be a good place.

I graduated from a non-target MSF and after graduation took a job as a licensed broker (didn’t need the degree to do that job).

I eventually found myself at a firm where I became an analyst for a fund that manages equity index funds and that went well. Circumstances changed and I now am in a very large city working for government doing short term securities (more accounting, different).

This thread came to my mind because I have the CFA next week and I don’t know what’s next after level 1. Level 2 sure, but that doesn’t really help get into PE, IB, or other things in the field. Python? I don’t know how to make that a skill on the resume since the firms I have worked for didn’t use it.

What would you pivot toward next? Pay is nice and more is always better, but I feel like I’m near a ceiling. I went through an interview a week ago and got the rejection - interview went well but I have a feeling that Big rock firm is very hard to get into.
