Personally, I like the new Camry XSE alot. The Honda Accord is decent, but the taillights are unattractive to me.

Used Porsche 911 (the 997 era). I don’t think it gets much better than that.
As far as a useful car- Toyota Camry. It’s hard to find anything more reliable and practical. I’m a big fan of Toyota’s and Porsche’s though.
You don't like the 996? You can get a great value for a Carerra as long as the IMS bearing has been maintained, or you get shell out for the Turbo which has a "Mezger"engine and no IMS bearing. You get the Turbo, you get a 3.9/3.8 second car for ~$35k, if not under. Personally, I love the styling of the 993, and one day would hope to be able to afford a Singer restoration.
I was gonna say the Accord too. I also don't love the back and liked the older style a bit better, but they're really good and comfy cars. I am the type of person who would shell out a lot of money on a sports car but keep it budget for my daily driver, and that would fit my bill pretty well. I have always been a fan of the Chrysler 300, but I hear they are not the best cars and have gone down in quality, so they get a no from me. Camry is good too--I don't have experience with them (my mom has an older Accord), but everything I hear is good. I don't love their design as much though. As for Nissan, I had a maxima growing up and I like their cars but my Maxima got shit mpg. Plus their style has gone downhill, same with the Altima. As for the cheaper BMW/Benz models, I feel like they don't bring the same level of excitement to the table as their more expensive siblings, and parts for them can be pricier, so upkeep is a negative. My dad had an X3 and hated it because repairs were so pricey. Ended up selling it earlier than we expected.
I’d really love a Honda Civic Type-r. I think they’re a lot of fun a friend of mine has one and they’re practical but also fun to drive. I think I might get one when I start FT. I suppose Camrys are good in terms of how reliable they are, personally I’d rather have much sportier car. Reliant Robins are the best though, in the states they’ll turn a lot of heads.
I'm thinking a used luxury car, like a Lexus GS or an Audi A5 might fit the bill for a wow factor. The GS has some nice lines and styling and there aren't too many on the road, so it'll be unique. Plus Lexus has a good reliability record so you'll get your money's worth there. I like the styling of the Audi A5, the sportback coupe looks good, but I don't know how practical the backseat is and how good reliability will be going forward. You should be able to find both pretty close to the top of your budget for ones that are two to three years old.
If you like hatchbacks, the Mazda 3 i think is a nice one. Definitely very sporty looking.
I second Lexus, but I would recommend an ES L/certified (CPO) , which adds 2 years unlimited mileage warranty on top of the balance of manufacturers warranty. If you get an ES -hybrid you'll be pushing over 40mpg.
There are also ways to add 5 or 6 years to your L/Certified unlimited milage warranty. Which is crazy to think you can get 10 years unlimited mileage warranty.
A CPO Benz C300. One that’s 2-3yrs old with 30k mileage will probably run you anywhere between 30/35k
If you can squeeze an extra $5k I'd recommend the Dodge Viper R/T. Beautiful car, very rare on the road, 400 ponies. Gas mileage sucks but every downshift will put a smile on your face.
Vipers are badass, but how reliable are they? Wouldn’t something newer be more what the op is looking for, the Type-r is perfect for him, 300 hp, almost 300 Torque, little tuning can push those numbers up even more and it’s practical and reliable.
To be honest, Vipers are pretty fucking reliable. Their engines are derived from Corvette's LS engines. The gas mileage just sucks. Like a rotary engine MPG but with more ponies and roar. Type R is a major flex for people who actually appreciate cars, especially JDM. Reliable with that modern swag. And like you said, a tune here, a tune there and she can push 350-400 horses.
Accords are nice too btw but both the cars you mentioned are practical. And you're no practical man. You're a show off :)
Interesting no one has mentioned the Tesla Model 3 yet. Just for the record, its 0-60 time is 3.2s, beating a Dodge Viper.
Viper definitely looks cooler though (and sounds wicked) - so you have that. Its just so damn wide! Awesome.
Plus the Viper is raw. No ABS. No traction control. Just driver and car. Wouldn't be fun as a daily car. Model 3 is just electricity, we all know hybrid and electric cars are quicker off the line due to the batteries having the ability to instantly power the drivetrain. But any Tesla is still a major flex for the norm society not much "OUR" community.
yeah tesla is easy choice here. Nobody has been keeping up to date with most economical/practical car figures here lately I suppose. LOL @ a porshe 911 being the first response for a "Bang For The Buck Car"
For a family of four with visiting grandparents (need for 6 passengers), the Mitsubishi Outlander crossover SUV with available 6th seat for roughly $23K is a good value.
I've rented this car before in Australia. It seemed pretty good! I liked it.
Unless you are able to get a solid warranty similar to new don't get a used car like most of these jack wangs keep suggesting.
