What's the most prestigious 1 year Master's Degree?

What 1 year master's degree would open the most doors?

Whether it's overall or in specific field like Tech or Finance.

If you could put a 1 year master's degree on your resume what would it be?

I would definitely say a CS degree from MIT or a similar school, even with this shit economy.

You can do:

  • CS specialties like data science, machine learning, computer vision, etc.
  • Regular software engineering
  • Finance jobs that require programming like quant analyst, quant dev, etc.
  • CS research/PhD
  • Entrepreneurship/Startups

Technically you can do any of these things with another technical degree like math, physics, other engineering etc. but you're gonna end up spending a lot more of your own time learning programming.

Though you won’t dive very deep into programming with a 1-year course

Most prestigious: Theoretical Physics / Pure Mathematics at Oxbridge

Opens the most doors: The general finance target masters (Oxford, LSE, LBS, HEC), Mfe at Baruch/Princeton (I'm not sure which one of these are 1 or 2 years)

I don't think it's a CS masters because the best people from undergrad usually go straight to industry while the opposite is true for Math/Physics for example.

"The degree is specifically designed so that full-time students can complete the program in one calendar year. The program is structured as a terminal master's degree for students and professionals who seek to deepen their feminist, gender-, and sexuality-related perspectives on activism, policy/advocacy, and research."

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee
