What's the upside of being a kind person in finance?

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts as this has been on my mind for the last few months or so. What's the upside of being a genuinely kind and nice person in this field? Aren't you putting yourself at risk of being taken advantage of especially on the sell side when you start taking on responsibilities such as negotiating terms and all?
