What’s your go-to coffee order?
It’s no secret that coffee is the drug of choice of the corporate kingdom. Getting the group’s coffee orders is almost a rite of passage for bright eyed and bushy tailed banker interns and “coffee chats” are perhaps the most common form of networking for all professionals alike. With all this in mind, what’s your go to coffee order? What can you tell about a professional by the type of coffee they drink? I’d imagine it would be odd to order a caramel Frappuccino at 9AM in the morning— but hey that may float somebody’s boat. I wonder if coffee orders are different depending on location? New Yorkers strike me as the standard “Black with 2 sugars” type while LA bankers give me the “Vanilla Latte with almond milk” vibe if that makes sense. Eager to see how everyone likes their coffee.
When I’m in the office: black cold brew (helps fill my dark soul) When I’m out: iced Carmel latte. Absolutely love the taste
First Choice: Americano (black)
Second Choice: Blonde Roast (black)
Third Choice: Hazlenut (black) - when I want to spice it up a bit
Americano or espresso
Medium roast with a bit of heavy cream in the morning and Americano in the afternoon sometimes
Flat white or macchiato
Long black (Americano)
They are not the same thing though
Wow I did not know that haha - there you go
That's what my sister calls her boyfriend
I used to just say no thanks. Now I make my own at home.
you aren't a banker
Pumpkin Spice Latte. at Starbucks, while studying in Italy, there is no Starbucks there, Italians have a fantastic choice of coffee of whatsoever. No Starbucks in Italy, It's Lavazzo coffee or specifically hand-pressed.
Italy is heaven for espresso and cappucino lovers with fresh beans --- niceeeee
Always a regular black coffee (medium or dark roast) or Americano.
Cold brew, black
Salted honey foam cold brew for days
i did not know this existed but thank you
Black cold brew or nitro cold brew if its available. Cold brew is so much smoother to me and it doesn't sit as heavily in my stomach as regular coffee does.
Get a cold brew maker. Best decision of my life
One of these always: flat white, cappuccino, light roast coffee (black or with a little skim milk).
I know all of the kids today are so enamored with coffee this and coffee that...Black coffee and Blonde coffee and such...but for me? There is nothing as refreshing as a nice cup of...ginseng tea ;)
uncle Iroh?
medium ice/americano light milk light sugar
Quad shot over ice
this is the way
Cappuccino in the morning.
Lunch onwards = espresso. Only children drink milk past 12pm.
Americanos are disgusting and you all should be ashamed.
Black coffee when I want something warm.
Iced black coffee when I want something cold.
Semi-sweet ice tea when I’m feeling less like a sociopath and day drinking with friends.
the other day had a cold brew mixed with sparkling water and lemon zest. was pretty good
topo chico + cold brew = starbux nitro
try it at home
+1 for suggesting Topo Chico
Wondering how many of these 'black coffee' orders are for people who intermittent fast
Rip to my stomach
you can have creamer if its under 50 cal for IF
Starbucks cold brew black or with oat milk (buy my own)
+1 on the oat milk
Is oat milk really revolutionary or is it just hype?? Everyone I know has been raving about it but I can’t see why it would be all that much better than almond milk
Oat milk is far closer to cow's milk than any other plant milk. So if you want something similar to a real latte/cappuccino/cortado then go for oat milk. Almond milk might taste better but is a worse substitute due to consistency.
grande iced black coffee
Large black coffee with one or two shots of espresso, depending on how sleepy I am. I am a volume guy.
Warm months - Iced black coffee
Cold months - black coffee or americano
Nah cold coffee, either iced or cold brew is the best irrespective of season. I moved to New England for college and am fully behind "the iced coffee at all times of the year" thing
I respect it, I was also in NE for college and iced dunkin coffee was a thing all year considering its cold from October to April.
No one just likes a latte anymore? Always my go to, but I'm a big fan of milk
Only if it's a breast milk latte
Oatmeal milk chaser. If not, I’ll take the black w. 1 scoop of brown sugar preferably, if not, white sugar will do.
Cold-brew usually, but living with indian roommates during quarantine has gotten me hooked on chai, shit's good as fuck.
Generally: espresso
If it's hot: Cold Brew/Ice Late depending on my ood
If I'm freezing to death: Flat white extra hot extra shot
Latte with three shots
I used to just slam Bang Energy drinks in front of my VP and he just looked at me like i was insane
You are insane bang energy drinks taste fucking disgusting lmfao
I don't really care about coffee, only the caffeine, and I am not picky at all. As a result, I order something different almost every time I go to Starbucks just to mix things up. I've tried cold brews, coffees, iced coffees, cappucinos, Frappucinos, etc. of every variety. Sometimes I get milk, almond milk, oat milk, soy milk, whatever. I don't care, I just want to try different stuff.
My favorite drink thus far has to be the nitro cold brew, or the cold foam cold brew.
Gotta say this as you're an intern:
I don’t drink coffee, I’m not in a white college girl phase.
Americano with a shot of steamed milk.
Also chewing coffee beans for non-liquid caffeine. it is addictive once you get used to it. Roasted coffee beans are esp yummy & packed full of antioxidants. Can focus & concentrate for 5 hours no toilet break.
quad latte
Got a quad latte once and my hands were shaking for a while after downing it pretty quickly. Granted, it was as a first year analyst so I have probably built up more resistance since then.
Sticking to iced black coffee (or warm green tea) these days - can't justify the extra calories on a daily basis.
Sometimes I go for 16 shots of espresso throughout the day - 2 cups in the morning and 2 cups at night at times. 4 shot cups. Also, 325mg of Nitraflex in my preworkout and 100mg Clif Gel shots every 20-30min. Its a lot of caffeine. Take care of your adrenal gland and caffeine is your friend.
i almost never ever go to a coffee shop, but if i do order at one, i'll get a large americano or a cold brew.
at home, i'll put 2-3 double shots over ice in a tall glass. sometimes a splash of goat milk
also make it with the tuskish coffee pot sometimes and mix with collagen
sometimes a french press
thats pretty much all i use anymore. all the fancy shit got old. i keep wanting to quit caffeine but caffeinated workouts are one of my peak states so woe is me
Nespresso (esp. the limited edition Colombia at the moment) at home.
Cold Brews/ Nitro in summer, Cappuccino in winter from coffee shops
Nespresso is such a ripoff. You're close to a buck per shot. My superauto crapped out (and may just need a simple repair) at $0.10 per shot for the machine plus maybe another $0.10 for beans.
It's £0.36-0.41 for each Nespresso, and I get a further 10% discount by subscribing to it monthly, making it ~£0.35 a coffee.
I drink maybe 3 a day -- I can live with £1 a day on coffee expenses (during WFH).... and the quality difference justifies any saving IMO
not coffee, but a VP i got close with over my internship last summer got me hooked on caffeine pills - skipped coffee altogether and justified it by saying it saved me a few extra dollars a day. A few weeks later my MD personally walks up to me and asks if I am okay after seeing me pop pill after pill day in and day out
Ngl caffeine pills have gotten me through a few finals seasons...glad to see I might find use for them professionally lol
Caffeine pills were in the gift shop at my undergrad - everyone was on NoDoz.
cold brew with oat milk, or arabica beans hot coffee with cream or milk
I like my coffee to reflect my soul: Black and Bitter.
Normally my go-to is an espresso. Unfortunately my superauto is on the fritz right now, and I haven't been able to find instructions to fix it online, and it's really not a good time to go and take it to be serviced. (If anyone knows a good espresso forum I'd appreciate it) Because of this I've been drinking home-made cold brew for the last month, since I don't have anything to do drip at home.
At work, I'll normally just do a black unsweetened coffee, hot or iced depending on the weather. We have artisan nitro cold-brew in the office, but I dislike the lack of acidity in it. At home using different beans and steep time fixes that. Both the work machines and the Starbucks in the lobby make poor espressos, so I almost never have them at work.
I don't drink coffee - could never stand the taste and the smell of more concentrated ones gives me a headache. Maybe I'll understand the hype someday though.
Go to is a quad shot of espresso with a black dark roast to go.
Nitro Brew
Winter - Starbucks: mocha with hazelnut/ standard coffee, milk, hazelnut
Summer - Starbucks: iced coffee, light ice, milk, hazelnut
Black Coffee!!
Cool!!
Lots of iced coffees, yikes.... hasn't everyone had cold brew or nitro brew?
