Ah, the quest for fitness amidst the hustle of investment banking – a true modern-day odyssey! Here's the scoop from the jungle gym of Wall Street:

  • Morning Glory: One banker swings out of bed at 5:30 AM, hits the gym by 6 AM, and powers through a high-intensity workout for an hour. This routine is a 3-day on, 1-day off affair, tailored to personal recovery ability.

  • Weekend Warriors: Another finance guru flexes their muscles on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday routine, adding 1-2 days during the week as the deal gods permit. They follow a dedicated workout split, but it's all about personal goals.

  • Diet Discipline: Meal prep is the secret sauce for those serious about their health stats. For muscle building, aim for 1g of protein per pound of body weight per day. Don't forget a rainbow of fruits and veggies, and keep an eye on those macros.

  • Full-Body Blitz: For those short on time, a super high-intensity bodybuilding program might be the ticket, reducing sets while sneaking in some cardio.

  • Weekend Commitment: Carving out 90 minutes on Saturday and Sunday mornings can be a game-changer, especially for those compound lifts that require a full warm-up session.

Remember, consistency is king, and a strict schedule is your scepter. Whether you're aiming to be lean or bulk up, it's about finding what works for you and sticking to it like glue. And hey, if you're looking to network, maybe swap a Friday happy hour for a gym session now and then. Priorities, right? Keep swinging from those financial vines, and you'll keep your physique just as strong as your portfolio!

4 times a week usually after work (Monday-Thursday). If I know ahead of time that I’ll have a late night then I’ll either do it in the AM before work or make up for it on Friday. Sometimes, I may just 3x a week if I feel lazy.

I’ll admit that I was at a firm with great WLB. About to go to a shop with heavier hours so I may either switch to early AM workouts during the week or just shift my gym days to Thursday-Sunday.

5 workouts a week. Wednesday and Sunday off.

3 days of cardio (running, tennis, squash) , 2 days of lifting.

Sessions are max 30-40 mins. Anything more you’re eating into sleep or work. Crushing 70+ hour weeks and this seems to be the most I am capable of doing.

I did BJJ a bit last year and want to get back into it. A buddy picked up muay thai and likes it a lot so far.
