When is it acceptable to add 2021 SA position on LinkedIn

Im starting to see my peers add their 2021 SA positions on LinkedIn with the "Incoming Investment Banking Summer Analyst" title. But it's literally 400 days before the start date. Is it pretentious? Or is it okay? Just wanna hear thoughts.

I've seen that on my feed too and personally I don't give a shit lol If you recruited well and want to show it off, go for it.

If you have to ask, just do it. I've actually seen an undergrad from my school accept a sophomore BB IB offer, then make an elaborate "I'm extremely humbled to announce" post about accepting a junior offer at a different firm before the start of the sophomore internship. This person has two incoming summer analysts listed under experiences. I've also known guys who reneged on offers, then updated their "incoming" title to their more prestigious firm almost immediately after. To the best of my knowledge, there has been no meaningful consequences for anyone, though I guess this is technically TBD.

Kind of weird to worry about being pretentious when the point of putting incoming is to stunt lol.
