Who Has Relocated to Another Country For Work?

I haven't but it would be sick!

Maybe Switzerland, UAE, Germany, Hong Kong or somewhere would be nice (before 'Rona szn though)

I have - but it was for love.

I have worked and lived in nine countries so far. Found the jobs before I moved drawbacks: leaving behind local girlfriend, new friends you made and colleagues who will be gone language: knew most of them, learned a few new ones only lived in Europe and North America.

I am not into Asia or South America

I moved from Sydney Australia to New Orleans when I was 37. It wasn't for work originally it was for a 6 month vacation after I sold out of business. My family loved it so much we wanted to live here so I started a business so I could get a Business Investment Visa (E2)

• 22 years old, wanted to work abroad after studying abroad
• USA -> East Asia
• Beginner level
• Networking
• Drawbacks: made steep learning curve even steeper with language barrier at first, harder to transition home later on in general, most people don't value the experience as much as I do
• Benefits: language, culture, broadening horizons; would not do anything different if I had a time machine

Frankly, it's always been a dream of mine, but I'm not sure it's one that I will be able to realize anytime soon.
