As a member of the who dat nation I do not know how to feel right now. I wanted black and gold at the super bowl. I want to blame the ref (previous rams player) for that ATROCIOUS no call and leave it at that.
Then there's the other side of this which Brees himself pointed out. It should not have affected how the team played in overtime. We should have accepted that we could not change that no call and put the rams in ground.

I'm more of an SEC guy. This is the first season I started following pro seriously. I thought officials ruining big ticket events was limited to fighting.
I’d like to see the NFL switch up their OT setup. That was a super underwhelming ending to the game, and I think something similar to college football’s OT rules would better allow for a more ‘equal opportunity’ for both teams
I absolutely despise the OT system, and it now benefited my team (NE) twice in the playoffs. The system sucks and is totally unfair. In the Pats-Chiefs game, whoever won the toss was most likely gonna score. Honestly super unfair, kinda ruins the game tbh
Yeah my comment was in reference to the NE game. I think a format similar to college football would be better - maybe have them start at the 50 instead of the 25. Current format is absolute cheeks

Unbelievably bad call (no call). Perhaps the worst I've ever seen given the circumstances. Many will say you can't blame the refs, games don't come down to a call, blah blah blah. WHile that may be true, all that is baked in (on for both teams) and the fact is, that call changed the game. They make the call, Saints win in regulation. Kick a field goal with 2 seconds left and do a happy dance. LA never gets the ball back.
Now did the Saints suck in OT? Yes! But that's irrelevant. Never should have been in OT.
The irony of the call was the league has bent over backwards to limit head to head contact, targeting, etc. Forget about pass interference (which it clearly was, naked eye, a mile away), but that hit could easily justify a fine, an ejection, etc. How do they not AT LEAST call pass interference? Unreal.
Sure the Saints could’ve played better but man can you imagine what football would look like if the NFL let that stuff fly?
I had no horse in that race, but the Saints got robbed. I played football for six years and have watched it my entire life. It was as bad of a call as I've ever seen, and I was a linebacker, so I generally side with the defensive guys.
It was so bad that when I started to see a couple of conspiracy theory rumblings about the league favoring the Los Angeles team over the small market team, I couldn't blame anyone for going there. I think this was simply incompetence, but I don't have a problem with people asking those questions.
To this day, I firmly believe the NBA rigged Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals between the Lakers and Kings, and I challenge anyone who thinks that's crazy to check out the Youtube clips. I had no horse in that race either. But the NBA needed a replacement for Jordan, and Kobe was still pre-rape trial, no tats, boyish and winning titles, basically Jordan 2.0. And pushing L.A. into the title would secure a three-peat for the Lakers, and an NYC vs. L.A. finals because the Nets came out of the East that year. So I think that that game was fixed against Sacramento; when it was clear the Lakers would probably lose in the fourth quarter, the refs went insane and started calling phantom fouls all over the Kings, especially their big men.
Again, I think this Saints call was purely incompetence and not intentional or "rigged." But I think it's perfectly justifiable for Saints fans to want to see some kind of action taken, such as a rule change or at least having one of the officials fired. It's heartbreaking to see as a football fan. A call that bad in that situation almost puts an asterisk on the whole season and Super Bowl. It was arguably the worst call in NFL history. It's certainly in that conversation.
Bad call but the Saints had chances before (and after) to win the game. Saints got out gained 363-165 yards and outscored 26-10 after the first quarter. Brees threw a pick in overtime. No excuses, refs miss calls.
As a saints fan I think this is the right way to think about it. Yes if the call was made we would have won. However we got the ball in OT and our destiny was in our hands. Brees said the same thing in the presser. True stoic thinking.
All I know is that the missed call was absolutely atrocious and Gayle Benson is fuckin pissed. I wonder what she's gonna do about this.
Definitely could’ve been called differently. But when you look from the angle on the sideline, the ball and man got there at about the same time, especially live. The ref was on that side so I can see how to the naked eye it costs you the game.
I’m not a fan of Brady, but dudes been to the big games for like 10 years straight and he wasnt getting a lot to go his way either.

It was a blown call. There were a lot of them this year. This one wasn't even the worst one if you don't control for it being theplayoffs.
That was a terrible call. Sometimes the calls go your way and sometimes they don't. Patriots and Rams should be an interesting super bowl.
