Can anyone think of interesting use cases for ChatGPT? I've been feeding it a couple of prompts and have been highly impressed. Spits out complex Essays and solves Paper LBOs in seconds. Would love to hear some thoughts on uses beyond the obvious facilitation of cheating in college

For equity research, you can get a decent summary of how the company works, without having to sift through sell-side analyst and management bullshit. I also use it to write entertaining 5-paragraph essays on the advantages of paving roads with Pringles or building CPUs with oranges.
It can be useful as thought starters when approaching a new topic (i.e. get me up to speed on the issue) or getting a general start/structure in a document, but I would not use it for more than that right now
ChatGPT is an incredible tool, but it has real limitations and I think we'll find that there's a reason that many other leading AI researchers are keeping their language models private
I think it's great for Market Intelligence/Market Research of any sort.
There already are companies like Kensho and AlphaSense that target more commercial use cases for natural-language AI.
I've hung out around some NLP experts and apparently chatGPT is just the tip of the iceberg... It's just that ChatGPT is the only "freely" available one that anyone can without having to pay for it.
Be wary of using current iteration of ChatGPT for any real work. Its data source is from 2021, and from a small subset of the broader internet.
Basic scripting. It's written some basic python code that I've used as an "outline" for some scripts but most were pseudocode more than actual code. Could be a good outline for structuring code, but it's been very... poor when asked anything complex
You already have code written that can now detect is something was written by ChatGPT, so there goes the edge if you're trying to use it for homework / business settings. Plus it's just plain wrong for many but the simplest questions. Impressive tech for 2021 for sure, long ways away from really disrupting existing paradigms
