Expert Network --> Finance

Currently a team manager at a highly competitive expert network, studied economics in school, work with PE, consultants, etc... every day and always had a strong interest in finance. I am wondering where may be the easiest points to entry into the finance space?  Easier going smaller or bigger in terms of company size? Certain sectors that may be better for entry? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you! I manage several associate ops team members (title is team lead). I am the project/case lead as well as the liaison interacting directly between my PE/Consulting clients and us. Work on anywhere from 5-15 cases at a time and have my own client base. Most of my time is spent managing team members work load, staffing them, and speaking with clients to understand and break down cases into manageable research buckets.

Honestly, those expert networks don’t have great exit opps into traditional finance. But if you haven’t been there too long, and you have a good background, I can see how you can spin it into a client services type role at an AM or something of the sort.

I have seen lower level employees that I have managed move to private wealth, without an internship? How do you think they’re breaking in?
