Title: Associate, Capital Formation
Level / YoE: Associate (2 YoE in IR, 2 YoE in IB)
Asset Class (PE vs HF): PE
AUM Range: $25B - $50B
2024 Comp (Base + Bonus): $300K ($150K + $150K)

Note: Also get in-office catered lunch and fee and carry-free co-invest in addition to the usual benefits (i.e. employer-paid health/vision/dental, 401K matching, health & wellness stipend, etc.). For those that are doubtful I’d recommend taking a look at the Heidrick & Struggles IR Compensation report.

What’s your background? If you’re coming in with a traditional IB or even consulting background you should be able to get some solid looks from the various IR recruiters. Any of the LinkedIn job posts you see for IR roles are likely just black holes or resume grabs. A lot of the typical PE IP headhunters (e.g. Ratio, HSP, etc.) also have a dedicated IR search team that can give you a list of mandates.

If you’re coming in at a more senior level (e.g. Senior Associate+) you might struggle since an entry-level role at IR will start at the Analyst/Associate level and they’ll think your comp expectations might be too high.
