48 HRs case study for PE: can I use LBO template?
Main question: Can I use LBO template in the case study? I understand the logic of LBO but haven’t practiced a ton with them. I was invited to do a 48hrs case study in 2 weeks, so I was wondering can I just use the LBO template and adjust it as I see fit based on the case provided or should I really build it all from scratch?
Edit: also, if I’m given 48 hours - what’s the expectation? Should I do DCF and comps or just LBO? Also can I do just DCF and LBO without comps because it seems to me that comps is time consuming..
Please give me guidance! Merci
Bonjour! You're in luck, because the LBO template can indeed be a great starting point for your case study. It's designed to be flexible and adaptable, so you can adjust it to fit the specifics of your case. Remember, the key is to understand the logic behind the model, not just to fill in the blanks.
As for your 48-hour timeline, it's a bit of a balancing act. You want to showcase your skills and knowledge, but you also need to manage your time effectively. LBO and DCF are both important techniques to demonstrate your understanding of, but if you're pressed for time, it might be wise to focus on these and leave out comps. Comps can indeed be time-consuming and might not add as much value if you're already doing a thorough LBO and DCF analysis.
Remember, the goal is to provide a well-reasoned, insightful analysis, not to tick off every possible box. So focus on doing a few things really well rather than trying to do everything. Bonne chance!
