Agriculture Focused Private Equity Funds
I was trying to find a good list of Agriculture PE Funds-- Middle Market and Megas. I've tried searching but haven't found anything useful. Anyone who knows, your input will be appreciated!
Thanks

bump anyone?
Arlon
Hancock Agricultural Investment Group (HAIG) - subsidiary of John Hancock, runs a $1.4bn fund.
The only private equity funds I know of that invest purely in agriculture / agriculture services are owned by larger agricultural conglomerates. One is Black River Asset Management which is owned by Cargill. They set up a private equity fund solely to invest in food companies in emerging markets and their main private equity funds have a broader mandate but also invest in agriculture.
As longshot mentioned, Arlon Capital Partners (owned by the Continental Grain Company) is a private equity fund that has a group specializing in agricultural investments as well.
Otherwise you're looking at natural resource private equity funds (excluding purely energy-focused funds) such as First Reserve. Apollo has one of the stronger broad natural resource platforms around and I've also seen Permira make a fair number of investments in the agriculture space.
One smaller Canadian fund that probably goes under the radar is Sprott Resource Corp. and they've been active in making agricultural investments.
Thanks for that Bear, Bet and Long. Yes, I believe I need to look at the Natural Resource category as I am looking for comps to my current which invests in Farmland and not "food companies" per se

As the title states, I am looking into PE funds (most likely mid to lower mid market) that have a focus/invest heavily in the Food & Ag / Consumer Goods space. I know Paine + Partners, Catterton Partners, KarpReilly like to invest in these assets but was looking to see if anyone knew of other funds with similar interests. Thanks in advance.
There are dozens. Do a search on CapIQ, Pitchbook or some other platform.
I'm not aware of the PE funds out there but one of the big VC's is called Cultivian Sandbox (www.cultiviansbx.com).
Encore, Blueroad
Agriculture Capital, New Island Capital, Farmland LP
Bump,
Seeing lots of interest from outside players trying to allocate capital to Ag land / Real Estate. Any other funds? Best location to be for an Ag fund?
https://www.paineschwartz.com/
Mubadala in Abu Dhabi has an ag focused fund
Proterra
Temasek does a lot of ag investing, as do the Chinese

International Farming Corporate focuses on farm land and services
Paine Schwartz Arlon AGR Partners Tillridge Pontifax AgTech Fall Line Capital Homestead Capital Agriculture Capital Anterra Capital Cultivian Sandbox S2G Ventures Amerra Tiverton Lariat Partners Agspring Rural American Fund Aqua Capital Avrio Capital
Note some are def more VC and some are more farmland investors. Many of the big funds will have an ag angle sometimes such as TPG, and seems like family offices can be pretty receptive as well. Definitely not a comprehensive list (particularly lacking on farmland side)
Edit: TPG ART team spun out to form Circularis Partners recently.
