Allergies at the Office

I’ve found myself in an odd situation at work. I have always had seasonal allergies, some years worst than others, but after recently starting at my firm I’ve found that my allergies have been extremely worse. As in, the first month or so was sneezing/runny nose and now it’s gotten to the point of feeling tightness in my chest as if I’m having an allergic reaction (this was the breaking point of me posting on here for advice, and no this has nothing to do with stress from the job). I’ve been having to step outside the office multiple times a day so that they don’t flare up. For the avoidance of doubt, I take a daily allergy medicine that has always helped.

Anyway, I know it’s the office that is causing it because it smells musty/moldy (I’m allergic to mold and dust) and have even spoken to another coworker work who also complains how bad their allergies flare up when they’re at the office (different extent to what mine are doing to me). Additionally, one of the partners apparently joked to my coworker (this was before I started at my firm) about how moldy the office can and how the air quality in the office is bad. When I am home on the weekends or in the evenings, I don’t feel any of the symptoms I have at work (or at least to the extremity).

Quite frankly am at a loss of what to do, and it is really affecting/distracting my day to day. I am going to an allergy doctor next week and have also ordered an air filter to have on my desk. I’m concerned that neither of these two things are going to solve the problem, and I have no idea how I would even bring this up to anyone at my firm.

Would appreciate any thoughts on how I should proceed with this or if someone has been in a similar situation.
