Any VCs that Invest in Commercial Space Companies?
I really want to be a part of the commercial space industry at some point, which got me thinking if there are any VCs that invest in commercial space companies. Most of these companies are funded by billionaires (Richard Branson, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, etc.) and they aren't very profitable yet, so maybe the industry isn't really ideal for venture capital, but I'd imagine that some companies rely on additional investments from outside sources. I'd really appreciate any help on this, though I'd be surprised if there were any VCs with this focus/experience.
Valor Equity Partners in Chicago has invested in Spacex (and Tesla), which is strange, as they're typically a middle-market private equity firm (rather than a VC).
DFJ is also in Space Ex. There aren't going to be too many start-ups in the space because it is highly capital intensive. There's not too many people with the resources to go after such an expensive, not to mention risky, venture.
Branson and Bezos already have formal corporate/family office operations that do VC investment.
Founder's Fund (Peter Thiel's and Sean Parker, etc) invests in Aerospace and robotics
