Ares/Oaktree PE group or McKinsey?
I have an offer from Ares and Oaktree within their PE groups and a generalist consulting offer from McKinsey. If you were in this position, where would you go and why?

If you want PE / anything finance / investing role, do PE. If not, do McKinsey. You’ll obviously be fine with either.
One thing I’ll note is that take McKinsey over the PE only if it’s a top office (NYC / SF / Chi) - if not, I’d take Ares / Oaktree regardless of what you want
McKinsey hasn't even started interviews yet so this is clearly false.
