AS1 '24 NYC MM Buyout Comp Check
Offer from ~$1Bn-$2.5Bn fund (established, great performance) of $250 cash + ~$10/15k in "other" comp. No co-invest, carry, or other material benefits. Is this market? If not, how have others approached negotiating? What would be reasonable to ask for?
$250-265 seems a tad light, as the market rate for associates at MM firms is usually between $270-300. Not sure if it's really possible to negotiate comp as an AS1. I've heard of people getting moving reimbursements, but never an actual increase in total comp.

Seems about right for not NYC/SF
It’s on the lower range of normal but still within range, especially with the “other comp”. This data set isn’t nyc specific I should add, but probably skews NY heavy given the location of most pe jobs.
Thank you - this is helpful.
