Asking HH about salary?
Basically title - have been going through recruiting and an email hit my inbox from a HH regarding a LMM growth equity opportunity paying 225k base + discretionary bonus and benefits????
I’ve only been recruiting for PE but this opportunity caught my eye purely for the pay package - no point in hiding it.
I reached out to the HH to at least learn more as they didn’t give fund name and basically just curious if I should ask the HH if this pay is common in GE among other questions to ask them? Would one expect salary to increase each year or stay relatively flat at LMM partner track funds?
That level of base for 1b fund size at As1 level is unheard of. Did the recruiter make a typo?
That was my first assumption as well. Is it ok to ask HHs salary questions or would it ding opps they show you if they think you care only for the pay?
I'll also assume that it's probably $225k total comp (base + bonus).
I agree that asking directly is a bit of a turn-off, but maybe you could frame as "I'd be interested in hearing more about this opportunity. Just to confirm, this is an A1 role, correct? The base salary mentioned looks more in-line with Senior Associate or VP, so I want to make sure that I'm the right fit from a years of experience perspective."
Something like that??
Pretty sure this is a HF role that the HH is mistakenly marketing as a PE/GE role. This email has been going around with some crazy comp numbers that do not align with the fund size but make for a good headline
