Asset Managment to private equity. Is it doable? (client facing roles)

I'm finishing a 2-year client-facing rotation program at a large asset manager (think: Fidelity, BlackRock, UBS). I've done rotations across institutional sales, consultant relations, and sales strategy, and I'm looking to pivot into a client-facing role in PE - something like IR or capital raising.

Curious how realistic that move is and what firms I should be targeting (been looking at KKR, Ares, Apollo, Blue Owl, etc.).

Also wondering what the comp/hours look like vs. AM (I’m looking at 125k total comp 50hr weeks if I stay here). Any insight from people who've made that switch would be super helpful. Appreciate it.
