'Bandwith-as-a-service' - would you consider engaging such a service?
Hi,
I am thinking through a scenario and am keen to canvass community views on this:
You are readying a portfolio company for a process - either exit or raising funds. Your firm intends to run the process itself (i.e. no intention to engage advisors). However, would you consider engaging a 'materials prep' firm, that simply puts together the IM, model, etc, so you don't have to? And if so, how valuable would that be considered to your firm?
Thanks.
How does this differ from a smaller scope to an investment bank?
It doesn't. Assuming an investment bank/boutique adviser is willing to unbundle and provide bespoke preparatory marketing materials, even though they are not being mandated by the PE firm to run the process itself.
The core value proposition for the PE firm is they save time on crafting the materials (leverage to spend that time on other value generative activities), while also avoiding the IBs ongoing and success fees, by running the process themselves.
