How’s BCI PE platform? I’m in a process with them and I’ve heard that they’re considered a more junior fund and not as sophisticated compared to CPP/OTPP/OMERS…

Also considering the recent restructuring, is it true that their Victoria HQ had limited career mobility (vs NYC)…?

What kind of profiles are they looking for - I assume lifers but what do exits look like? I heard someone mythical moved in the past moved to ONEX eh

Would appreciate any insights about the jr lifestyle/culture in Vic too!

[FYI / I’m looking to escapé from banking but leaving Toronto / east coast (for a tiny island) is a big sacrifice]

Key takeaways: tighten my elevator pitch (past-present-future, under 2 min), do one case study per week (model + presentation + recommendation) and send it to him for feedback, and prepare technical, market and behavioral questions separately. His networking advice was the most valuable part: always end each conversation by asking for 1–2 more contacts, map and message headhunters directly, and follow fund news (closings, launches) to time my outreach. He also offered to refer me to open roles at his fund. Highly recommended.”
