Bessemer Venture Parters
Any thoughts on the analyst position at Bessemer straight out of college? How is it viewed in the industry and what exit opportunities exist? Comp, culture, and upward mobility would be super helpful as well. Are you limited to just vc or is early stage ge still a posibility?
Upward mobility in VC is low. Analysts are almost never going to become partners. Usually you will need to come in later say post IB/MBA or post a successful startup exit to get to more senior levels
As a data point that runs contrary to the post above - close to 40% of those who started in the Bessemer analyst class are now partners at Bessemer or another VC. I believe there is three current partners at Bessemer that started off as analysts and worked their way up (with no graduate school or other experiences)
BVP generally has good mobility until the pre-partner level but guys who are pre-partner at Bessemer have no issue getting tapped for solid VC funds. I know one who just got tapped for a $650mm early stage fund as a junior partner there.

Get it and don’t look back. Great spot great people and fun times in New York. Don’t worry about exits and mobility a bit its a no brainer decision if you love venture.

Respected program that will set you up for career success if you're smart and hardworking enough to capitalize on it. The actual job--make about 100k/yr and source 3-5 companies a week. I think they also want to cultivate you into a domain expert and have you produce articles for them. This can help you grow a twitter following if you are so inclined.
So comp is only 100K all in? That's pretty low given how difficult it is to get a position there.
