Best perks and nicest offices?

Fully acknowledge this is silly and doesn’t really matter but always fun to hear these (and get some ideas for the suggestion box, hah). A couple fun ones I’ve heard:

  • UMM firm will give you a $5k stipend for a vacation when you reach your 5th anniversary

  • MM firm where any ad hoc event at which there are 2 or more employees (breakfast/lunch/dinner/drinks/coffee) is covered by the firm

  • A few MFs and UMMs have full kitchens and all meals catered exactly how you like

$25 lunch (need to be in office)
$50 dinner (need to be in office)
Full loaded snack bar / kitchen

Brand new gym with complimentary personal trainer up to 2x a week

Ubers after 8pm
Reimburse phone bill
Pays for all travel expenses

Dollar for dollar 401K match
$2000 annually for health / massages / gym
Great insurance and covers full premium and deductible

Coinvest
20 days of PTO
In office M-F

Not sure about exact perks but KKR’s NY office is ridiculously nice — heard they have fully catered breakfast and lunch as well that’s phenomenal

A few more I’ve heard:

  • All MBA application expenses covered (GMAT fee, consultants, app fees, school visits/tours, etc.)
  • First class work travel everywhere, no restrictions. Also stay in any hotel you want with no price restrictions
  • Unlimited food budget when you’re working (including weekends)
  • $500/quarter/associate social stipend - can spend on whatever social event the associates want
  • $500/month wellness stipend. Can be used on gym membership, massages, classes, workout clothes, workshops, anything that’s personally enriching
  • 5 week sabbatical every 5 years of employment

KKR’s NYC office has “maids/servants” that come to you if you need anything (e.g., food, snacks, coffee, etc.) when you push a button that’s at every desk inside an office.

I saw this first-hand when I went it during an interview. The MD interviewing me pushed a button and someone in a maid came in and brought back a soda at the MD’s request.

Not kidding.

Just stating the obvious, but please do not call them "maids/servants" in a professional setting.

Yep. I think the “help” or “your lacky” would be more polite.

eg do you mind asking your lacky to bring me a Coke Zero, just the can, dont need a glass. And make sure they bring a fucking napkin for the condensation.

After said lacky leaves, make sure you look at your host admiringly and say “it’s so wonderful what you do for these people.”

- Wellness subsidy with a very loose definition, i.e., can be used on gym membership, athleisure, classes/education, personal trainer etc you can be creative

- First class travel, stay at nice hotels. + occasional jet to tag along on

- Biz school prep expenses

- Top notch insurance coverage for free (no premiums, deductibles, etc.)

- Catered lunch on Mondays, free dinner whenever (not time limited)

- Occasional social events/team building

- Reimbursed subscription to major business news periodicals

Are you telling us you don't even get 50% off employee discount for Stuart Weitzman before Valentine's Day?

Anyone know the perks for KKR NYC apart from catering & nice offices? I.e., travel, benefits, wellness, etc.?

Sorry - is this just when traveling for work trips?

Have heard holiday party has some insane "awards" or whatever you want to call them, unlimited PTO, in-office only 3 days, and that they cover all healthcare, dental, vision, and gym memberships

  • Six-figure annual salary guaranteed for life; vested at year 5. Passes to spouse and child upon death

  • 65 days of PTO per year

  • No Social Security Taxes

  • 5% 401k match

  • All medical/dental/vision insurance premiums covered 100% (PPO Platinum)

  • Health insurance premiums covered for life in retirement.

  • In office only twice per week (Monday/Tuesday). WFH Wednesday - Friday…

…this is for a government job lol

What kind of govt job offers this

lot of public pensions have this; i know a few super smart people on the LP/public side who chose to work 35 hours a week still making $250k+ a year in MCOL cities, get insane gov't benefits (WFH 60% of time, free HC) and will retire at 55 with pension for life for them and family.

My fave which isn't eye poppingly expensive or whatever, but is pretty cool: we now have a proper barista-staffed fancy coffee machine in the office where the barista is there Tue-Thu until like 12 pm. Coffee is banging! Idk how long we'll keep it because it's on one of those wheelie things but I'll take it while it's here.

at most places I think they’re mostly the same perks but at different “levels” ie associates get business class only if 2+ hours whereas partners get first class all the time, different $$$ amount for gym stipend, etc

Able to actually use your vacay days without getting railed by deal teams.

Reading some of the comments above, makes me realizing how cheap my employer is.
Bad side:
- £20 dinner allowance. Very rigid and if you overspend, it's on you

- Taxi back home only from 10pm

- Canteen for breakfast and lunch around £7-£10 per meal

- No free snacks or beverages

- Business class only for transcontinental flights or > 5 hours. It goes without saying that in Europe, you never travel business

Good side:
- Very good health insurance, never paid a penny for anything

- Very good pension so good way to reduce tax bill

- Up to 35 days annual leave and in theory they push you to take them (in practice, very different)
