Best ways of getting into PE with no IB experience (from target school)?

Hey everyone,

I'm a rising senior at one of the main target schools, and my goal is to work in PE. I'm well aware that IB-->PE is the most straightforward path, but I didn't go through IB internship recruitment last cycle for reasons I'm not going to get into online.

I'd like to avoid IB completely. This summer I have an internship at a Big 4, but based on the research I've done, if I work full time in the department I'm interning in right now, it seems like it would be nearly impossible to get a job in PE without getting my MBA first.

I honestly feel pretty lost, so I was wondering what you guys think are the best IB alternatives with the best exit opps for someone straight out of undergrad?
