Also keen to get some insider views.

Based on my desktop research so absolutely zero insight how the team is in practice:

  • In the market raising Blackrock Global Infrastructure Fund IV, targeting $7.5bn with a first close at $4.5bn last year

  • Seem to really like the energy sector and predominantly looking to invest 30%-50% of the new fund in the energy sector. Fund III is close to be fully deployed and already close to 50% invested in the energy sector

  • Definitely a large cap player given the type of deals they are looking at, e.g. AT&T JV in the US, Aramco Pipeline in UAE, Calisen in the UK, GasLog in Greece etc... I think they are currently bidding on a very large FRSU in Italy and another gas network in Europe

  • The team is fairly big with 35 investment professionals between US and Europe but it seems to be quite top heavy (I counted around 10 MDs)

  • They lost a couple of very senior individuals recently but not sure whether they were on the debt or equity side

I am speculating but comp is probably in line with what you could expect in a large cap player.

Happy to hear any additional feedback or to be corrected where appropriate.
