Think most people who leave go into something similar - RE or debt related. I'm sure you could jump to the equity side - BX isn't great about internal transfers but I bet you could network over to BREIT if you wanted to. BREDS is an excellent group and one of the best in their space, but I wouldn't take this role if you are thinking you want MF buyout PE coming out of it
