bump
My mate works there. Good WLP, comp is mediocre, first year around 170k
First year assoc 170k gbp?
Yes
All in? Presumably no carry?
Bump
Heard good things - they are quite formal / traditional (e.g., ties) but WLB seems OK and strong reputation overall
Comp low, very British
Mediocre all-around - in terms of talent, comp, returns etc.
Where is this coming from? The company is a plc listed so pretty easy to check irr/moic across all vintages… ranked top quartile consistently, and raised 7bn fund in europe. Have done some pretty successful deals and was able to scale strategy massively. In the meanwhile, most large cap PEs are struggling in Europe
bump - they seem to have performed decently but share price is falling, any views on why?
they raise 7bn fund, heard comp is below market (around the 180k region).
Below market for Europe or comparing to the US?
Both
Bumping this, any insights on the London Credit Team?
bump - view on credit team would be very helpful. Culture, hours, deal flow and do they invest into junior part of capital structure / distressed / special sits?
Any idea what's their interview process like?
Bump - any views on London PE?
They hiring?
They had a rotter with HobbyCraft and a few other dogs from what I’ve heard.
bump - any views on London PE?
Which fund? Differ within the LMM fund (something like development capital) and flagship. Even moreso from credit, which is performing pretty well from what i know
I am interested in flagship and development capital funds
From what I heard they took ages to raise their last flagship fund (even for this market). Have been overweighted UK consumer and have been trying to move away from consumer as a whole as a firm. Returns pre 2021 were very good (don't know how they're performing now). Always thought they had decent WLB if that matters to you. I'd guess comp would be around 100-110 GBP with 100% bonus. Would be great to hear others views.
They pay like shit and for some reason they had trouble fundraising despite good perf as per their investor relations materials.
Overall would avoid due to very low comp compared to competing funds of this caliber.
Who do you consider as part of this caliber?
Any LBO fund between 5bn and 15bn (UMM)
