Broaden CV, or stay at my job?
Hey! I'm a 20 year old MSc Finance student, combining that with LLB Fiscal Law (final year) at a Dutch top-level university.
At the start of my final BSc Economics year, I started as a Private Equity Intern at a fund-of-funds in LMM that was just starting (I was their first employee). After my 7 month contract, I resigned as Investment Analyst, which I now do for about 32 hours a week alongside my full-time MSc and LLB. I work two long days in the office (8-24) and some WFH on the side.
I get compensated quite well given my level of experience. Because the team is so small (3 FTEs managing €200 mln), I have a lot of responsibility and my work changes a lot.
I am under contract until my MSc is completed (jul-27). After, I still want to do a LLM Corporate Law, part-time alongside working full-time/4 days per week.
Would you try to stay at this firm, or broaden the CV by doing internships at more MM/UMM firms? Eventually, I would love to work in more hands-on PE, and probably move out of a fund-of-funds.
