Building Proprietary Deal Sourcing Process

How do you guys think about deal sourcing for buying out private companies ($50-200M Rev)? My current steps include:

Capital IQ private company scrape GLG calls with people in the industry Using Hunter to find email addresses on the company website Cold-emailing the CEOs / BoD asking to meet

Hit rate hasn't been that great. Any other interesting ideas you guys have seen that works? I've heard some people building some sort of proprietary software for webscraping. Current firm doesn't expect me to source, but it's something I enjoy. Would awesome to be able to build a proprietary pipeline.

Thanks, NSL
