Call with PE CEO tomorrow morning, questions to ask?

My girlfriend’s grandpa is the CEO of a texas PE firm. She set a call between us for tomorrow and I’m freaking out. For context, I’m a big4 consultant and would obviously love to make the move but not sure what the best way to leave a good impression. Thoughts?

Is it a networking call or a just a get to know your girlfriends grandpa call? If it’s the latter I would stay away from talking a lot about work. If it’s the former do some research on the port companies and ask about those, what he sees as opportunities for the upcoming year. It’s a possible in-law at the end of the day, get him talking about himself and the firms history and you will be set.

Honestly - just ask him what his net worth is and try to qualify if your girlfriend is marriage material or not. If you are uncomfortable asking straight up since you work for a big four possibly just offer to do his taxes for free - intern (in coverage)

Love knows no bounds, it's true,
And wealth shouldn't matter for me and you.
But if I had to choose, here's my view,
Why a rich girl might make my heart anew:

She could share her fortune with me,
And we could live in luxury, fancy and free.
She could show me the world and all its glory,
And I could be her prince charming, her story.

Of course, it's not just about the money,
It's the person, the love, the sweet honey.
But if we're lucky, and we're in love too,
Being with a rich girl might be a dream come true.

Hey - bump. How did this go? If well, can I get an invite to the wedding? The bigger question, I guess, is will interns be allowed to attend the wedding?

It went well. He ended up talking 90% of the time and I set bi weekly calls with him to catch up and obtain guidance. He was a lot cooler than I expected him to be for his age

Dang - have you picked out the color of your private jet or your wife’s Lambo?
