Canadian Citizen Targeting Infra PE Roles
I recently got my Canadian citizenship, which means I can finally avail TN visa. And I am planning on moving back to the US (I was working on OPT, but my company's lawyers f-ed up my H1B, and I had to leave the US). I am hoping someone whose familiar with the process can guide me on:
-
When speaking with recruiters / folks in the US, who are not as familiar with the visa process (most small PE funds might not be), how do you succinctly explain TN and its implications for their ability to sponsor you?
-
Although I know you can theoretically work on TN Visa for an indefinite period, I would like to get my green card so company's willingness to sponsor my H1B and subsequently green card would be important to me....Can you openly about this in the convo / ask, or is it not advisable?

I have an MBA (Finance, Accounting, as concentrations), and my undergrad was in economics. Is it easier for me to qualify for the "The Economist" category under TN?
Thank you. I know these are basic questions, but I am not familiar since I personally dont know any Canadian citizen working in the US on TN. But I am 100% sure it's barely as hard for a Canadian to move on TN vs. some random dude in the UK/Middle East / Aus / Singapore who suddenly decides one day he'd like to work in the US (but doesn't have many visa options)
