Capital One or small PE

Hi, son is a junior. He has two intern options right now. Capital one corporate finance and a PE startup with 15 people.

Can any one tell me which one will have bigger earning potential down the road? Right now the starting is 85k~ vs 50k+25k bonus.

Honestly son is not the type that can climb the corporate ladder far (mom knows best).

Why does earning potential down the road matter most from an internship level position... wouldn't experience learned that could be used to go elsewhere upon graduation be far more valuable?
