Career advice - investment side at a small firm or corp dev at a larger one?

Hi all, looking to get some thoughts on a potential career move. Currently working in corp fin/corp dev at a large private equity firm. Have been exploring the opportunity to move into the investment team at a smaller, real estate focused PE shop.

Any thoughts on the pros and cons between these paths in terms of work/life balance, compensation, learning, and having engaging/fulfilling work?
