Lol'd at asking if CD&R is legit.
Extremely well-known name in the MM. Focus on consumer, industrials, healthcare, and business services. Known for value-add operational capabilities.
spot on. was at a conference where a cd&r partner was the main presenter and he was extremely sharp - entire conference was based on operational improvement and some of their internal case studies were pretty wild.
Google "CD&R" and "Ashland Water" for their most recent deal.

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice - Engineers of a different kind
Did anyone see this article in The Economist? I tried to post a link but don't have enough points to do so yet. This PE firm is supposedly known for achieving value through operational excellence (rather than purely by financial engineering). I would have thought that a place like this hires management consultants but I looked through the bios page and it seems like all the associates have banking backgrounds...
? CD&R is one of the most well-known and respected firms in the industry...
