Chances of landing PE in Asia/LatAm/London post MBA

Any chances of breaking into PE in Asia/LatAm/London, as an MBA Intern or Post MBA Associate from INSEAD?

My background is:

  • 3 years executing M&A at the largest investment holding in my country
  • 1 year as an IB analyst in the FIG division at a BB, covering Latin America
  • 2 years doing finance/strategy for a public company (retail)

Any suggestions and comments are super welcomed and would be very helpful

Thanks!

With Insead (or any top US M7 school FT MBA program), you will get interviews given your background. In this market, you will need relevant pre MBA experience - which obviously you have.

Insead is considered a "super target", so you're in very good shape with interviews - getting an actual job will matter much more on actual interview performance and relevant team needs. LatAM / London should be very doable for you - Asia much harder given I assume you do not have the local language & culture fit.

After Insead I made it to private equity and I did not have prior IBD experience (I was a MBB consultant) - so very much doable.
