Choose UMM PE or AI Corpdev role

Have an opportunity to choose an MM/UMM fund that is super sweaty but pays well (350-425) but also a potential offer at an series d+ AI startup/neocloud/etc.. in a corp dev role that preipo stage w comp and equity at 200k+ (cash not equity, still figuring out equity shares…)?

All in all, feel like I might miss a once in a lifetime opportunity to join the AI race here.. also have really thought about l/s investing long term but seeing that ai is compressing the returns and alpha generation as well as PE carry becoming more and more hard to realize and the sweatshop nature… makes me worried… although the fund has great returns anecdotally don’t know if I can endure that grind when I might have a bit more WLB at this startup… and the even if I do need to grind the upside of equity is worth it when the company goes public… but torn here

People really need to start acknowledging how sweaty many of these corp dev seats are. You basically become the analyst through VP of the team when you join them. The teams are super lean, there isn’t a similar type of team support like you see in banking. I have friends who have left banking and end up working more hours than they did in banking. You are often better just going to PE shops for at least a year.
