I have read posts on here and wondered whether the CIM in a PE case study is the similar to a CIM created for a sell-side target. If that is the case, do you suggest I go through my bank’s database and pick a few CIMs and practice that way?

In my experience, it’s usually a real CIM the firm received from a sell-side process (could be one they invested in or one they passed). Pretty sure the one I got was one that probably would’ve been on my group’s drive.
