Comp at MF, Top MM, MM, lower MM
How does comp vary across the different buckets of PE firms? Bit curious here.
How would KKR, Warburg comp compared to Marlin, how do smaller MMs comp?

From what I know..
MF and UMM are ~$250-350 all-in (with Apollo at ~$400). Base is usually in the 125-175 range.
MMs sit around ~$200-250. Some throw in shadow carry and coinvest.
LMMs are more ~$175-225. Although, some do dip below that benchmark for a really small fund (something like ~$120-150).
In terms of AUM or fund size how you would you characterize MF & Upper MM, MM, and lower MM firms?
Recent fund size is a better metric, you can find funds by searching for "{insert firm name} palico" on google.
MFs are >$5Bn UMMs ~$3-5Bn (some are more than $5Bn) MMs ~$500M-2Bn LMMs ~$100-500M
Super helpful, thanks!
Is this for first year Associate or?
Yeah
I can confirm these ranges are pretty much spot on from working in the industry and knowing what friends are getting, but there's obviously a little more variability than banking. Shadow carry and coinvest are really on a case-by-case basis - I wouldn't say it's the norm for associates, even in the middle market.
