I got an interview for this place. Does anyone know more about them? They are commission based only. Is it even worth it if you are in between jobs? I have plenty of live deal experience but I'm looking for more financial modeling experience so I could potentially do this. Will it be a lot of cold calling?

Who the hell does commission-only in PE?! I've never heard of these people but that alone SCREAMS fishy... doesn't help that one of the MPs has a smile like Private Pyle during his mental break scene.

Bro LMFAO what is this website. This is easily the worst "Meet the team" page I've ever seen on a website

Coming back to my own comment because I started flipping through the bios and LinkedIn's of the team and things look really strange honestly..

Did a 22 year old vape kid on TikTok name this firm?  This is the name of a firm that owns like 2.5 condos in Dubai and says it's a real estate developer.

I interned their last summer, so keep in mind that my experience was for the internship -- but very unstructured, seemed to talk a lot but not actually do anything, EVERYTHING (from investment theses to evaluating companies) is done through AI (at least the first look; i.e. when assigning teams at the beginning of the internship, I wanted to be assigned to the diligence team but was told no b/c I don't have ChatGPT premium -- weird that they don't pay for their employees' work tools...). Didn't really learn much, but I was a freshman so it was a "take anything you can get" situation. 50% of the interns were from IU-Kelly, which was also kind of strange.

Are they actually a real PE shop? What do they actually do? Can you share more?

Without knowing anymore information (outside of a quick scan of their website), I personally would advise against taking the role unless you have a) zero PE experience (not relevant to you as you have live deal experience) AND b) the ability to support yourself without consistent income for an extended period of time. Even as a startup fund, I'm still extremely skeptical of a commission-only model especially given how many senior executives comprise the firm.

I actually saw this job posting a few weeks ago and immediately looked the other way as the posting was littered with formatting errors and clearly just copied/pasted from ChatGPT with ZERO adjustments (i.e., there were instructions from the GPT response in the posting that clearly shouldn't have been there).

No harm in taking the interview though! If you do, I'd use it as an opportunity to really diligence the strength of the team, track record, fund structure/strategy, etc. Best of luck to you my friend.
