Deutsche Bank Global Credit Trading
Anyone have any info on this team? It sits in their FICC department but I understand they does financing using the bank's balance sheet. Are they similar to a leveraged finance desk

I am curious about this too.

Purely judging by everything you said, it would seem this is the credit trading group of DB, similar to the credit trading groups of every BB - they market make for IG HY and Distressed corporate & structured credit be it bonds or loans. You have traders and sales and sales-traders who pitch positions and trades to hedge funds and institutional asset managers and there are risk limits for how much principal risk each book can have at the end of the day.
DB’s Global Credit Trading team does financing using the bank’s balance sheet and credit trading as mentioned above. It’s one of the strong groups within DB. The financing side is quite broad. There are teams that do commercial real estate, structured credit, special sits, etc. The work is quite similar to private credit.
What exactly does Lev Fin do if credit trading does a bunch of financing? I know Deutsche DPG has a sizable prop investing sleeve that has a fair amount of illiquid/private credit, but I would think the bread and butter of Credit Trading would be trading credit, CUSIP names not private illiquid credit
Similar question too. If the financing team does direct lending to corporations and sponsors. Isn't it the same as a leveraged finance team?
Am curious about this team too. I heard they are p strong in the financing space. Wondering if anyone in the private credit space could share some colour on this team.

This article covers a bit about the team
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2021-10-21/deutsche-bank-s-top-…
best desk (or one of the best desks) in DB; think their distressed products group is the 1st on the street
any idea what base/bonus numbers look like for this team? also interested
It’s a large desk broken up by IG, HY, and Distressed Debt. Think they do some private financing and structure products but might be in another group if I remember right. The DPG desk is legit and is a pseudo prop desk given illiquidity of the positions. They crushed it back in the day with in Lehman bros and also recently for something (was in the news). Pretty legit desk with DPG desk getting good placements in distressed funds (can get interviews into silver points, anchorage, monarch, blue mountain type firms).
