Did I fuck up my first HH call?

I start FT at a consulting firm in 3 weeks. I graduated in May. A decent HH reached out and we had the intro call today. I am on the West Coast for a cousin's wedding so I am at a family friend's house. The WiFi went out mid call, embarrassingly. She called me on the phone to finish the convo, but the entire meeting only lasted about 12-13 minutes when it was scheduled for 30mins. I don't know if that's normal. She also directly asked me if I got a return offer from the consulting firm I worked at last summer and I tried to prevaricate saying "it wasn't a fit" and "I wanted a different type of firm" since I did not get a return offer and ended elsewhere, but I dont think she bought it. Am I fucked? I am planning on sending a thank u note apologizing again for wifi and saying smth like "looking forward to hearing from you or the team."

I've heard that HH meetings / intro calls and exceedingly important for opportunities down the line. Because I don't know what the recruiting cycle looks like now for consultants given the whole thing shifted, I didn't really have a good answer for when I am expecting to recruit. Did I screw the meeting up?

Ignore title currently an asso at mf. TLDR: yes, but it’s not the end of the world. These calls are basically mini-interviews and you should treat them as such I.e, ensuring good connection, solid answers for why’d you leave previous firm x. HHs use these calls to rank candidates. As such bombing it probably put you near the bottom of the list. This is not to say this HH will completely ghost you, but some firms may exclude you if they only look at tier 1 candidates sent over
