Digital Infrastructure PE - General views

Hi,

I am currently recruiting for an digital Infra fund (they do classic buyouts and growth equity) and wanted to know more about this sector before the first interview in two weeks. I am working at a sector agnostic fund right now with limited exposure to digital infra (data centers, telecoms, fibres etc.).

Could anyone give me some information regarding what is especially important for these deals? What metrics are essential? Valuations? Industry trends/outlook? (I read here somewhere that this area is not too great to invest in, dunno why though).
