Direct Lending (Ares/Golub/AB)

Looking to make the switch as an analyst at a MM PE firm to a credit role at Ares/Golub/etc. How does recruiting for direct lending positions work? Is it run mainly through a headhunters or do these shops also pull candidates from online and other sources?

Separately, I'd be interested to hear experiences from any current employees at the above firms/similar direct lending roles. Would also love to get a sense of comp/hours look like at a junior level.
